What is Yoga Therapy?
The International Association of Yoga Therapy defines Yoga Therapy as the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals and small groups.
Yoga therapy uses the tools of yoga to encourage and empower an individual to be an active participant in improving their own health and well being. Possible tools used in the session can be but not limited to movement, breath work, meditation, exploring lifestyle, and relaxation techniques.
I have experience in working with people who are managing stress, anxiety, low mood/depression, and other mental health issues as well as lower back pain, sciatica, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Yoga Therapy is also beneficial for a wide range of issues including:

Yoga therapy is being supported through research showing the therapeutic benefits of yoga therapy for a wide range of health conditions effecting our well being by relief of symptoms experienced or enhancing our sense of well being whilst living with chronic or short term conditions.

What happens during a session?
As a yoga therapist I will work along side the student to come up with a practice that addresses their needs and concerns for that session or groups of sessions. We will always work within the range the student has at that time. If agreed I also will collaborate (with consent) with the other professionals who are being seen, so that we are integrating the services being provided to promote the student’s health and well-being. We will then review the previous practices given and alter the practices and suggestions as needed in follow-up sessions. Research has shown that there is increased benefit to having a series of sessions.
Cancellations of less than 24 hours will be expected to pay for the session unless otherwise agreed.
Payment for sessions also accepted via PayPal to:
Things I found beneficial from yoga therapy were:being listened to, being respected, being looked after, having a practice that is just for me, learning about what my body can do, learning how I can help myself emotionally and physically. Diana was very thorough, intuitive, understanding, and respectful of what my needs were physically and emotionally.Yoga Therapy Student with stress, anxiety, and recovering from cardiovascular issues
Diana is warm, kind, and a good listener. She is boundaried and professional. She takes time and care explaining things. Diana is receptive and flexible to my feedback, taking into account my verbal feedback and responsive to what she asked me to do. She checks in throughout the session. I feel in very safe hands.Yoga Therapy Student with anxiety and stress
